Pick-Your-Own Farms in Central MA
Little more than an hour’s drive from Boston, and sometimes less, the bounty of the local harvest is yours for the picking. From strawberries, blueberries and peaches in summer, plus heirloom apples and pumpkins in the fall, the 39 Worcester County farms on our list grow a tantalizing variety of fruit. They also offer a range of pick-your-own experiences, from small orchards where you bring your own containers and cash, to a full-blown outing with hayrides, playgrounds, ice cream and farm animals for children—plus beer gardens, cideries and farm store shopping with credit cards for adults. Just remember to check the farm’s website or call to get up-to-date picking information.
